CANGO Honored at 2024 Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Gender Climate Awards

On November 6, 2024, the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Gender Climate Awards ceremony was held in Astana, Kazakhstan. Organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the awards aim to recognize individuals and organizations making significant contributions to gender equality in the context of climate change resilience, adaptation, and mitigation across Central and West Asia.

The China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO) received recognition in the organization category for its impactful projects on community development, environmental protection, and its pioneering work at the intersection of gender and climate. CANGO's Deputy Secretary-General Xu Xiaoxiao and Program Assistant Wang Yueqi represented the organization at the award ceremony, the Women's Business Forum, and related training workshops.

At the Women's Business Forum, Ms. Xu Xiaoxiao delivered a speech on the theme of "Women's Leadership," highlighting CANGO’s efforts to foster gender mainstreaming in China’s philanthropy sector.

This prestigious award not only reflects ADB and the jury's recognition of CANGO’s achievements but also serves as a motivation for the organization to continue advancing gender equality and climate action in the future.
