Side Event on the Theme of “Climate Change as Challenge for the Right to Food, Water and Development” was Held in Geneva

During the 51^st session of the UN Human Rights Council, a side event on the theme of “climate change as challenge for the right to food, water and development”, co-organized by the China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO), the China NGO Network for International Exchanges and the Geneva Agape Foundation, was held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on the September 14^th，representatives of non-governmental organizations and think tanks, experts and scholars of China and foreign countries participated in discussion.

According to Zhang Qianhui, representative of the China Association for NGO Cooperation, young people are the fresh activists in addressing climate change. The organization launched China Climate Change Education Project in 2012, and actively promoted the incorporation of climate change contents in the national education system, so as to raise teachers' and students' awareness of climate change issues, and propel families and communities to jointly participate in actions related to addressing climate change.
