On November 18-21, CANGO organized a series of activities during the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), to provide a platform and space for Chinese CSOs and the international community to exchange ideas and explore potential collaboration opportunities.

On November 18, the China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO) successfully held a press conference themed "Civil Society Organizations Participating in Sustainable Development and Climate Governance". The press conference aimed to showcase how CSOs act as bridges in global climate action and sustainable development, thus facilitating cross-sectoral cooperation. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and several Chinese CSOs elaborated on the connections between their areas of focus and climate change and shared their practical experiences in addressing climate challenges and promoting environmental sustainability. These organizations, which span multiple sectors, not only play a vital role in promoting sustainable development and coping with the impacts of climate change but also effectively promote cooperation and partnerships among local communities, policymakers, and the private sector. This press conference provided an international stage for CSOs to display their contributions to sustainable development and climate governance. Meanwhile, through this platform, it further inspired the attention and participation of all sectors of society in climate action and sustainable development issues, promoting cross-border exchanges and cooperation.

On November 20, the side event "Chinese Civil Society Organizations in Action: Contributing to Climate Change Response" was successfully held at the China Pavilion of COP29. It was co-hosted by CANGO, the China Environmental Protection Foundation, and the Beijing Entrepreneurs' Environmental Protection Foundation (SEE Foundation), and organized by the Vanke Foundation, the SEE Ecological Association, and Greenpeace. As an important force for social change, CSOs can play unique roles in policy advocacy, technical support, and public participation due to their flexibility, innovativeness, and ability to mobilize grassroots work. The side event at the China Pavilion of COP29 built an open communication platform for Chinese and foreign governments, CSOs, enterprises, and academia to discuss how to fortify cooperation, and further drive the implementation and innovation of climate action strategies.

From November 18th to 21st, CANGO, jointly with the Gansu "Green Camel Bell" Environment and Development Center and the Shenzhen South Low-Carbon Research Institute, held a four-day exhibition in the Blue Zone of COP29. This exhibition was a showcase of multiple accomplishments. It spotlighted CANGO's remarkable project achievements and award-winning works in the climate and gender arenas. Additionally, it highlighted the funding successes of CN Plan support partners, including the well-known Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) based in Chaoyang District, Beijing, and the Shanghai Jingsinan Financial Research Institute. The outcomes and promotional efforts of the "Voices of Children in Climate Change" project were also on display. Throughout the exhibition, interactive exchanges took place. Representatives from coporates, international organizations committed to women's development, experts specializing in climate change research, conference personnel, and enthusiastic volunteers all came together, engaging in discussions and sharing ideas.
